Manuscript bond signed, 1766 Feb. 14.

Binding Edward Gibbon and his father Edward Gibbon, Sr. (and their heirs, executors and administrators) to Sir Francis Gosling, Knight and Alderman of the City of London, Robert Gosling Esq. of Lincoln's Inn Fields, and George Clive Esq. of Bedford Row for the sum of £30,000. The loan payments are to be due every six months until 15 February 1771, with interest at the rate of £4 and 10 shillings per £100. Signed "Edward Gibbon" and "Edward Gibbon Junior," and with their seals. Witnessed by J.W. Smith and William Cartlitch.
